In this presentation, we'll walk you through our experience of using the SONiC SAI Virtual Switch (VS) in DentOS. Throughout the development and testing phases of the NOS, we leverage virtualization to simulate a streamlined yet authentic data center switch environment. This approach allows the comprehensive testing of the control plane applications without the need for physical hardware. By enabling the virtual switch, you gain the power to emulate multiple switches in complex networking setups in virtual environments. This provides businesses with the flexibility to streamline their development and testing even before a fully deployed physical device is at their disposal, contributing to the rapid emergence of innovations. We'll show you how to use the SONiC SAI Virtual Switch in DentOS and guide you in building a DENT Virtual Switch.
